Are Beard Growth Kits Legit? Here’s What I Think

Are Beard Growth Kits Legit

With the growing popularity of beards, many brands are launching their beard growth kits. You’ve probably heard about Copenhagen or the Beard Club beard growth products.

These brands claim that their products are the miracles that will help you grow a beard. Before you go spend a lot of money on similar products, are beard growth kits legit?

Some beard growth kits are legit and help you get a thicker, fuller beard. However, that doesn’t work for everyone. It depends mainly on genetics. Also, it depends on the ingredients these kits use..

In this article, you’ll get to know what to look for in beard growth kits. We also discuss the reasons why you’re not seeing results. So, keep on reading!

Are Beard Growth Kits A Scam?

Whether beard growth kits work or not is a controversial topic. You’ll find some people that believe they’re a scam. You’ll also find others that love these kits and swear by them.

This goes back to your genetics. If you got the genes to grow a beard, beard growth kits will be your best friend.

Some beard growth products can help stimulate blood circulation and nourish your hair follicles, thus promoting hair growth. This depends on the ingredients they use.

Effective beard growth products contain ingredients that have evidence that they work for facial hair growth. Some beard growth products don’t work because the ingredients they use don’t promote facial hair growth.

So, it’s best to understand how to pick your beard growth products, which we’ll talk about later in this article.

On the other hand, if you don’t have the genetics to grow a beard, no products will help with that. So, you might want to consider a beard transplant, if you really want one.

What to Look For in a Beard Growth Kit?

The key to your beard growth products is the ingredients. Look for products with these ingredients:

These are the ingredients that can be added to beard products and actually do get results.

Other ingredients get so much hype, but I haven’t found any scientific evidence that supports the claims. For example, Biotin gets so much hype in beard growth products and also hair products.

When I was doing my research, I found that there’s no scientific evidence that topical biotin works. However, consuming foods that are rich in biotin helps with hair growth.

So, adding foods, such as meat, fish, vegetables, eggs, nuts, and seeds to your diet will help with your overall beard health and also your scalp hair.

Another thing that I should mention is some beard growth brands add some fancy ingredients names to their products. These ingredients most of the time have no evidence that they actually work.

In my opinion, stick with the products that contain the vitamins and extracts that I mentioned above.

What About Derma Rollers That Come With Some Beard Growth Kits?

What About Derma Rollers That Come With Some Beard Growth Kits

If you’re into skincare, you probably know the various benefits derma rollers offer to the health and glow of your skin. Dermatologists and skincare specialists have been talking about derma rollers for years now.

But does derma rolling or beard rolling help with facial hair growth. There have been some studies that show the positive effect of microneedling for promoting the growth of scalp hair.

However, there isn’t much research about its effect on facial hair growth. With the little information that I found about microneedling and facial hair growth, I concluded that it does help beard growth.

Microneedling or derma rolling helps boost blood flow to your beard area which is beneficial for both hair growth and skin health. It also helps activate collagen and keratin production.

It’s more promising if microneedling is paired with other treatments that contain vitamins and ingredients that help with beard growth.

Although derma rolling can be beneficial for your beard and skin, if used incorrectly, it can cause more bad than good.

Because the essence of microneedling is actually piercing the skin, if the derma roller isn’t disinfected, it can cause irritation and inflammation. Also, if you’re using a larger needle than necessary, you can cause tearing to your skin and you might even see bleeding.

So, it’s best to do your research before even considering buying a derma roller or beard roller

Why Am I Not Seeing Results With Beard Growth Kits?

Why Am I Not Seeing Results With Beard Growth Kits

There are plenty of reasons that could be why you’re not seeing results with using beard growth kits. Here are some of them:

1. Your Genetics

As I said earlier, if your genetics isn’t allowing you to grow a beard, beard growth kits won’t do anything for you. Let me explain something to you.

To have the genetics to grow a beard means that your facial hair follicles have receptors that are sensitive to the effects of DHT. Dihydrotestosterone or DHT is a higher form of the hormone testosterone.

When your facial hair follicles are sensitive to this hormone, they stimulate hair growth. Some people don’t have sensitive receptors on their facial hair follicles.

Those are the people that can’t grow a beard. If you’re one of those people, beard growth kits won’t help you.

2. Your Diet

Your health affects your beard growth, just like it affects your skin and your scalp hair. If you’re not having a good diet and not exercising enough, your beard won’t grow well.

You need to supply your body with the necessary nutrients to feed your beard.

3. Sleep and Stress

Also, sleep and stress affect your beard growth. When you’re stressed all the time, you notice that your scalp hair starts falling like crazy. The same goes for your beard.

Not having enough sleep or rest affects your health, and thus your beard growth. So, notice if you’ve been stressed and not having enough sleep lately.

It might be the problem that is preventing you from having a longer, fuller beard.

4. Your Skin Health

Another thing to pay attention to is your skin. The skin underneath your beard is important for your beard growth. Your scalp has to be healthy to grow healthy hair.

The same goes for your beard scalp, which is the skin underneath your beard. You need to take care of it.

Proper cleansing, moisturizing, and brushing will do the job for you. You can also use some serums with active ingredients.

5. Smoking

Smoking

Last but not least is smoking. If you’re a heavy smoker, smoking might be what is preventing you from growing a beard.

It’s a terrible habit anyway that is ruining your health, so think about some options to help you get rid of it.

To Conclude

If you know that you have the genetics to grow a beard, using a good beard growth product can actually help you grow a beard. As long as you’re buying products that have effective ingredients, you’ll see results.

However, you need to take care of yourself and your health too. Eat healthily and supply your body with the necessary rest to be able to grow healthy facial hair.
